Ervin "Junnie" N. Martin Jr.
Funeral services for Ervin "Junnie" N. Martin Jr., 81, of New Albany, Indiana will be held at 12 noon, on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Scott Funeral Home 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 PM and after 9 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. He passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Ervin was born on April 26, 1933 in Floyd County, Indiana and went on to graduate from Indiana University's Business School. He started his successful business, AP Products in 1976 and worked there until retirement in 1999. Ervin was an avid animal lover who financially donated to many animal organizations throughout his life. He loved to spend time at his home watching and feeding the different wildlife that would come through his backyard. Ervin was a wonderful poet and he loved to write short stories. He had two books published and was currently working on a third. He was a very intelligent and loving man that will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ervin was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Brumleve; his father, Ervin Martin Sr.; step-father, Justin Brumleve; and his faithful dog companion, Walker.
He is survived by three siblings, Elizabeth "Libbie" Becht and her husband Steve, Vickie Probus and her husband Robert, James Martin and his wife Janna; five nieces, Miranda (Philip Collins) Becht, Bethany (Jim) Scott, Tina Blackwell, Stacy Shelly, Kristi Bates; one nephew, Justin (Joyce) Wayman; and his faithful companion, Kit Kat.
Memorial contributions can be made to the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
