Joe McCombs Obituary
A memorial service for Joe F. McCombs, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10-2 PM at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen and Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. He passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Maple Manor Christian Home.
Joe was born on April 27, 1935 to the late James Garnett and Mary McCombs. He was retired from Cissell Manufacturing Company in Louisville and was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kenwood Congregation in Louisville.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Rudolph McCombs, Dwight McCombs, Otis McCombs, Lavon Coulter, and Ruby Jean Swallows.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane McCombs; two children, Sandy McCombs, Bruce McCombs; four siblings, Alton McCombs and his wife Faye, Willidean Burnett and her husband Donald, Ruth Allen and her husband Wilbur, Eldridge McCombs and his wife Doris; and his faithful companion, Buddy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Kentucky Humane Society, Southern Indiana Rescue League, or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
