Karen Elizabeth Smothers

Funeral services for Karen Elizabeth Smothers, 68, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Scott Funeral Homes North Chapel, with burial to follow at Martinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM and after 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. She passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Karen enjoyed camping, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a 1963 Graduate of Jeffersonville High School and retired from National City Bank after 30 years of service.
She is survived by her loving companion of 30 years, Michael Alexander; daughter, Tammy Smothers; two step-daughters, Mimi Brand (Scott) and Melissa Coyle; niece and caregiver, Dianna Caldwell (Quinton); nephews, Dougless Meadows, James Howell and Michael Howell (Lisa); faithful feline, Cooter; two sisters, Joanna Ridenour (Frank) and Annis Cantu (Rico); 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Moore; son, Anthony "Tony" Smothers (Samantha); and sister, Brenda Adamszak.
