Reece Eckerty Obituary

Funeral services for M. Reece Eckerty, 96, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Scott Funeral Homes North Chapel, with burial to follow at Eckerty Cemetery in Eckerty, IN. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. He passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
He was a retired Past Board Member and President of First Savings Bank. He was a member of the former Morton Memorial Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 362, Murat Temple of Indianapolis and the Scottish Rite. He served on several community boards and was a United States Air Force Veteran of WWII.
The family would like to thank Clark Rehab and Skilled Nursing for the great care Reece received.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Eckerty; and parents, Porter and Laura Eckerty.
He is survived by his son, David Eckerty (Charlotte); one granddaughter, Melissa Snelling and her husband Tim; two great-granddaughters, Savannah and Tatum Snelling; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to Gentiva Hospice of Southern Indiana or Kosair Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
