Shelby Shaffer Obituary
Funeral services for Shelby Jean Shaffer, 68, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN. A burial with military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. She passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.
Shelby retired after 23 years in the United States Navy and worked as Clark County Veteran Service Officer for 21 years. She served with the American Cancer Society, LifeSpan Resources and the American Legion in Jeffersonville.
She was preceded in death by her father, W.E. "Bob" Dodds.
She is survived by her mother, Norma Dodds; three sisters, Jane Byrd (Dwight), Cathy Dodds and Peggy Brunson (Ron); two brothers, James Dodds (Nancy) and Jack Dodds (Ruth); 9 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great niece; and her beloved pets, Smokey and Bandit.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to Clark County Humane Society, 2702 Middle Road, Jeffersonville, IN. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
