Charles "Chick" D. Long

Charles “Chick” D. Long, 70, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was born in Jeffersonville, IN on September 3, 1953 to Charles E. Long Jr and Marie (Crum) Long. He was the oldest of five children.

His early career consisted of being a business and restaurant entrepreneur. He later went back to school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. His proudest accomplishment in life were his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted Catholic, avid sports fan and a lifelong supporter of Providence athletics.

Surviving him are his parents, Chuck and Marie Long; his children, Jennifer Long, Andrea Thomas (Brian), Eric Long (Katie), and Meredith Sons (Jeremy); grandchildren, Brianna (Ethan), Anna, Benjamin, Emma, Ashton, Heidi, Noah, Nora, Gracie and Graham; siblings, Gary Long (Shannon), Jimmy Long (Linda), Mike Long (Terri), Cathy Stoner (John); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN on Sunday, March 24 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 N. Sherwood Ave. Clarksville, IN on Monday at 10:30 am with burial following in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. The priest will be Fr. Florian Tiell, OFM Conv.
