Phyllis Wilkins

Phyllis Wilkins, 68, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 surrounded by family at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church, 4202 Helen Road, Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 to 7 PM on Sunday at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, and after 10 AM on Monday at the church.

She was born on July 12, 1951 in Jeffersonville, IN to Bill and Jane Canter.  She is a graduate of Jeffersonville High School Class of 1969.  Her life was focused on volunteer work and serving the Southern Indiana community in several different capacities.  As a preacher’s wife, she was a part of many different churches in our community and most recently a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Canter. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Richard “Dickie” Wilkins; mother, Jane Canter; four children, Steve Brown (Tonda), Jacob Wilkins (Christie), Amber Ross (Donnie), and Ryan Brown (Katie); 11 grandchildren, Peyton Brown, Stevie Brown, Byron Wilkins, Owen Wilkins, Ella Wilkins, Olivia Ross, Elizabeth Ross, Aidan Ross, Emery Ross, Faith Brown, and Canon Brown; siblings, Mel Canter (Debbie), and Chuck Canter; and beloved dog, Max.
