She was born in Lexington KY on 7/20/50, the oldest of 3 children and big sister to Mark and Billy Waters. She talked fondly of starting dinner after school and caring for her brothers as a daily responsibility. Being the daughter of a Southern Railway Foreman, she moved often and attended many elementary schools including schools in Galena, and New Albany. She graduated from William Anderson Bass High School in Atlanta GA. and started a long career in Banking during her junior and senior year where she left school half a day to work at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Bass High was also where she met her high school sweetheart and husband for 49 years Miles McCart. After high school, her father was transferred again, this time to Louisville, KY. Where she worked for Bank of Louisville from 1969-1972, then went on to the Federal Reserve Bank of St.Louis/Louisville Branch and worked there for 33 years, and retired in 2004 from her position as Check Department Supervisor.
In her spare time Savannah loved serving and helping others. Particularly in her church and family. She relished in preparing meals, babysitting grandchildren, and hosting family gatherings. She loved listening to Christian and Bluegrass music while she worked around the home. Savannah had a knack for bringing things together and organized weddings for her 3 daughters and her oldest granddaughter. She loved to travel and saw much of the USA over the years with Miles. Savannah was a highly devoted wife, mother, and child of God.
Savannah is preceded in death by her parents, William and Joyce Waters, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years and 9 months, Miles McCart; children, Belinda Dimmitt (Jim), Robin Reesor (Jesse), and Carie Acree (Steve); brothers, William “Billy” Waters III (Carol) and Mark Waters (Cindy); grandchildren, Sadie Warren (Justin), Emily Reesor, Jordan Dimmitt, Clay Dimmitt (Beth), and Tyler Dimmitt (Brooke); and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Grace, Aliyah, and Landon.
