Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2019 at Highland Presbyterian Church, 1011 Cherokee Rd, Louisville, KY with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 to 7 PM on Friday, January 3, 2019 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville.  Vi Wine Sigler passed away peacefully on December 30, 2019 after a courageous battle with health issues.

Vi was born on January 10, 1943 in St. Paul, MN to the late James W. Wine and Emma Louise Turck Wine. She graduated from high school in New Canaan, CT and was a graduate of Centre College in 1964.  

Vi began working at the Courier Journal in Louisville as the first spokesperson for its Newspaper in Classroom program.  She ran a small business called “A Bit of Hoosier Heritage” for several years and more recently worked for the Louisville Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. 

Vi was very active in her community and served in many capacities. She was President of the Younger Women’s Club of Louisville 1983-1985. She volunteered at the Howard Steamboat Museum and the Center for Lay Ministries. She and her husband, Larry, have been members of the Highland Presbyterian Church since their marriage in 1967.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Charles E. Wine.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry; three children, Lisbeth Sigler Fried (Greg) of Arlington, VA,Kenneth A. Sigler (Jennifer) of Franklin, TN, and James W.Sigler (Amy) of Fishers, IN; eight grandchildren, Katie and Olivia Fried, Evan, Emma and Ellie Sigler, Logan, Brooklyn and Cooper Sigler; a sister, Lisbeth Wine Werner (Christopher); and a brother, James M. Wine (Eva).

Memorial contributions in memory of Vi can be made to the Center for Lay Ministries and the Howard Steamboat Museum, both in Jeffersonville.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
