A. Brent Morris

A. Brent Morris, 88, of Jeffersonville, Indiana,passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023.  Brent was a family man - a loving husband, father, grandpa, and son.  He was born on January 13, 1935, graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1952, served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959, and attended the University of Louisville Speed School.  He retired from Naval Ordnance in 1995 after 40 years of dedicated service as a machinist and mechanical engineering technician.  He continued to use these skills until the very end at his own Morris Machine Shop.  Brent was also a lifelong member of Wall Street United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville, where he taught Sunday School for nearly 40 years and served as the ultimate handyman.  He worked with all sorts of materials, but especially metal.  Brent was always willing to volunteer his time and skill to help someone in need.  Brent was passionate about old cars, especially his beloved MG which he often drove to car meets.  He was always vibrant and lived an active life until the end, often meeting friends at Schimpff’s and attending concerts at Warder Park.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Brent is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Briscoe Morris and Ann Elizabeth Collins Morris.

Brent leaves behind his loving wife, Millie Morris; 2 children, Jeffrey Morris, and Janet Bratcher (Lee); 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Megan, and Mason Bratcher; 2 granddogs, Yogi, and Pixie; 2 cousins, Ann Adair, and Sam Adair (Gayle); and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service will be held at 6 PM, on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Wall Street United Methodist Church, 240 Wall Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 6 PM at the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wall Street United Methodist Church in memory of Brent.
