Adonna Marie Sugars

Adonna Sugars, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, faithfulness, and unwavering love for others.

Born in Indianapolis, Adonna was the cherished daughter of the late Bernard X. and June J. Lynch. From an early age, she carried a heart for service, a calling that would define much of her life’s work. She faithfully dedicated many years to serving the needs of children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where she worked as a supervisor in the fundraising department. Her efforts were rooted not in recognition, but in her deep desire to help children and families facing unimaginable challenges. Through her work, Adonna touched countless lives, often in ways she would never fully see.

Above all else, Adonna’s greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to her devoted husband, Jack Sugars, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and treasured memories. She was a proud and loving mother to her sons, Paul Sugars and Jason Sugars (Stepfanie), and her step-grandchildren, Quintin and Nolan, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional support.

She is also survived by her sister, Christena Walker; her brother, John Lynch; her niece, Lane (Geoff). Adonna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her generosity, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her kindness was steady, her love sincere, and her presence a comfort to those who knew her.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway. Memorial services celebrating Adonna’s life will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Her life was a testament to service, love, and enduring faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
