Ahmad Isiah Price, affectionately known as Maddie, arrived into this world through the union of Artimeshia Eboné Mitchell and Juan DeMarzio Price on October 3, 1999 in Portsmouth, VA. Ahmad accepted and believed in a Higher Power at an early age and was extremely spiritual.
Ahmad grew up and spent his formative years in Louisville, KY where he attended and graduated from Shacklett Elementary School, Farnsley Middle School and Fern Creek High School. He was set to begin his Junior year at Indiana University Southeast August 2022.
Ahmad had many talents and excelled in every sport, but he was most passionate about basketball. He amassed many accolades in the sport including leading Fern Creek to its first ever and second 6th Region titles, being named honorable mention All-State, IUS New-Comer of the Year and 2nd team All league honors in the River States Conference. Ahmad was very excited and looking forward to having the opportunity to play on the same team as his younger brother, Xavier, for the 2022-2023 season.
Ahmad’s passion for basketball continued off the court as well. He dedicated time to mentoring and training younger players in basketball camps and workshops across the Louisville Metro area.
Ahmad loved and was fiercely protective of his family, close friends and loved ones. He is a beautiful soul will truly be missed.
Ahmad’s grandparents Henry and Joyce Price and cousin/brother Trevon Mitchell preceded him in transitioning from this world. Ahmad leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents Artimeshia (Juan) and Juan (TeAundra), brothers - Juan Jr., Xavier, Nicholas, Corrian, cousin/sister Brianna, grandparents James and Danita, uncles James Mitchell (Krissy) Ricardo ,Shawn ,Brandon,Travis aunt Erica Buckman, cousins and friends.
The wake will be Monday, August 8 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 2701 Veterans Parkway. His service will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the church with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
The family of Ahmad Price sends our sincere gratitude and thanks to everyone who sent a prayer, cards, flowers, calls, food, etc. Though Ahmad’s work here on Earth is complete, his spirit will forever live on in our heart and memories can be brought up in recall.
