Al Theriot, age 66 of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. A proud native of Louisiana, Al lived a life marked by hard work, adventure, and a warm, welcoming spirit that endeared him to all who knew him.
Al faithfully served in the United States Navy, stationed in Italy and traveling to Grenada and beyond. Upon his return home, he worked in construction. For over thirty years, Al was a crane operator—an independent contractor whose skills carried him across the country and even overseas. He was never afraid to take on a new project or travel to a new place, and his dedication to his craft was evident in every job he touched.
Al had the true gift of gab. He never met a stranger, and he had a way of connecting with people that made them feel instantly at ease. Whether sharing a story, swapping a joke, or simply striking up conversation with someone passing by, Al made friends everywhere he went. A lover of the outdoors, Al felt most at peace beneath an open sky. He enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, soaking in the warmth, and letting a gentle breeze rest on his face. Nature was his quiet sanctuary. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and never missed a race on television—ready to cheer on his favorites with enthusiasm and heart.
Al was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Gill) Theriot. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Amanda (Joshua) Willen, and two grandchildren who were the absolute light of his life, Hayden and Ava. His love for them was boundless, and his pride in them was evident in every story he shared.
Al will be cremated according to his wishes. There will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville.
Al’s kindness, humor, and easygoing warmth will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the stories told, the friendships he forged, and the love he leaves behind.
