Alma Hamblin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Alma was born in Manchester, Kentucky, to the late Keenis and Elizabeth Davidson.
Alma's life was one filled with love, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to her family and faith. She possessed a remarkable talent for cooking, her kitchen a place of comfort and joy for all who entered. Alma's signature chicken and dumplings and delectable fudge were legendary among family and friends, a testament to her culinary skills.
As the cherished helpmate to her husband, Rudy, Alma exemplified the true essence of partnership and devotion. She stood by his side as he served as a pastor, fulfilling her role as a doting pastor's wife with grace and unwavering support. Alma's dedication to her church congregation was unparalleled, her faith a guiding light in all aspects of her life.
Above all else, Alma will be remembered for the boundless love she showered upon her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to Rudy, a nurturing mother to her children, and a source of unwavering support and wisdom to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of her delicious creations.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Harold, Carl, Phil, Ben, Stanley, Lola, and Troy.
Alma is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Rudy; her son, Jack Daniel (Chasity); step-daughter, Lindy Jan Rowe (Tom); grandchildren, Austin, Braddock, Stokes, and Anderson; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Elijah; brother, Saul Davidson (Janet).
Visitation will be 11-3 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway - Jeffersonville. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, 610 N High Street, Brownstown, Indiana.
