Barbara Ann Forsee

Barbara Ann Forsee, 88, formerly of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 18, 2026 at Baptist East Hospital, in Louisville, Kentucky, after a brief illness. She is survived by her daughters, Pam Forsee Hogue (Jeff) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Rebecca Forsee Ausbrooks (Kelly) of Paducah, Kentucky, and two grandchildren, Noah and Alena Ausbrooks. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, David C.Forsee.

Barbara was a graduate of New Washington High School in Indiana, where she was class salutatorian. She attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana, and later returned to college at Indiana University Southeast, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Always curious and a gifted student whose report cards often noted that she “talked too much,” Barbara put her extroverted social skills to ample use in a career that included managing the dial access study room at Jeffersonville High School, corporate hotel sales manager at the Marriott Inn, a travel agent at Wilson Travel and, in retirement, as a city concierge for the Louisville Convention and Visitor Bureau.

Barbara enjoyed a long and full life with her husband and great love, Dave. Their love story began when they first noticed each other in elementary school. They later reconnected in high school, culminating with their marriage in 1959. Steadfastly devoted to each other, they shared a life rich with many friends, hard work, fun and travel.

Cremation was chosen and was handled by Scott Funeral Home.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 1 to 4 p.m., at 300 Spring in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Family and friends are welcome to bring and share
their favorite memories of both Barb and Dave.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the WHAS Crusade for Children or the Alzheimer’s Association.
