Betty (Harrington) Hendrix

A funeral mass for Betty Hendrix, 96, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1840 E. 8th Street in Jeffersonville.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the church.  Cremation was chosen and Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.  Mary passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at her home.

Betty was born on May 17, 1925 in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late William and Nellie Harrington.  She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in education.  Betty was a current member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville and previously a member St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour where she was a retired teacher and principal.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hendrix; siblings, William Harrington, Tim Harrington, Katie Batz, Louise DiPaola, Alice VanWanzeele; son-in-law, Joseph Zarick; four brother-in-laws, Tommy Wadelton, Paul Batz, Albert VanWanzeele, Patrick DiPaola; and two sister-in-laws, Norma Harrington and Geri Harrington.

Betty is survived by six children, William E. Hendrix (Maggie), Timothy D. Hendrix (Lorie), Nola A. Ungari (James), Joan M. Hendrix, Jean A. Bell (William), Nancy Zarick Ziegler (Marty); two siblings, Father Jeremy Harrington OFM, Ann Wadelton; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
