Betty Jean (Allen) Rider

Funeral services for Betty Jean Rider, 94, of Clarksville, Indiana will be held at 2 PM on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-6 PM at the funeral home and on Monday prior to the service from 1-2 PM.  She passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital. 

Betty was born on October 23, 1926 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late James and Allie Allen.  She worked for nearly 40 years at Jeff Boat and ACBL and she was a longtime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.  Betty was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing bingo.  She loved spending time with her family and working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Rider; her daughter, Jeane Lee; and ten siblings. 

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Hickey (Harry); Cynthia Blavat; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
