Obituary

Betty Jane Posey, age 93, passed away at her home on Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born in Henderson, KY on December 6, 1929 to the late William E. and Lilly May Johnson.

She was a payroll supervisor with Jeff boat and American Commercial Lines. She founded the churches library at First Baptist Church. She was a beautiful lady and wonderful wife. She enjoyed bird watching with her husband from the home they built and shared together. She enjoyed animals and reading poetry.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Johnson.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Jack B. Posey, nephew, Rucker Posey of Richmond, VA.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church, 2402 East 10th Street, Jeffersonville on Wednesday, August 23 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the funeral service at 1:00 in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church. Scott Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to give a special note of thanks to Kathy and Ken Raymond for their help and concern, both past and present.
