Beverly Burgess Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Ann Burgess.  Beverly passed away on April 7, 2025 at the age of 82 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Born on September 8, 1942, Beverly was the child of Wayne “Sleepy” Marlin and Ruth Marlin (Raver).

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Bill Burgess and sister-in- laws Martha Marlin and Sandy Marlin.

She is survived by her children Jimmy Harrod, Kevin Harrod (Michele) and Mark Harrod (Dani), siblings Jack Marlin, Jace Marlin, Gary Marlin (Maureen), Robert “Bots” Marlin (Glenda), Cindy Grant (Jerry) and Pat Marlin, and 13 nieces and nephews.  Beverly has 7 grandkids, John, Hayden, Conner, Skylar, Rosie, Sydney and Brooke, including 5 great-grandchildren Rylie, Rowen, Reagan, Greyson and Leo.

Beverly was instrumental in raising 5 of her grandchildren. Besides being a live-in Nana, Beverly worked for The Indiana Gas Company in Clarksville, and The Census Bureau of Indiana.  In California she worked at Target, Walmart and the County of Sacramento.

Beverly enjoyed old black and white movies.  She was an avid reader.  She enjoyed the music of The Lawrence Welk Show, but loved the music of her brothers and sons even more.

Every Christmas, Beverly would send her children and siblings a calendar listing everyone’s birthday, anniversary and special occasions. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beverly didn’t want a formal funeral service, so her family will celebrate her life in a private ceremony.  There will be a mass in her honor at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana at 8:00 am on Sunday May 11, 2025.
