Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobby Joe Lane. Bobby Joe slipped away from this life quietly and peacefully in his home in Jeffersonville surrounded by his family on February 22, 2023.
Bobby Joe was born August 2, 1951 in Gary, IN. He was third of five children born to his mother Lydia Mae Lane (Hackley) and Father Jessie Harold Lane senior.

Bobby Joe spent most of his life living in Jeffersonville. He worked at Jeff Boat, Marble Hill, and he retired from Legacy. Bobby Joe married his lifelong sweetheart, Wendolyn Lane (Gray) in 1996. They were blessed with two children, Ebony and Markee (Gray). Bobby was also blessed with three other children, "little" Bobby Joe Lane, LaRhonda Washington (Hammond), and Nakia Ashford (Middleton).

Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lydia and Jessie, brother Jessie "Butch" Lane Jr., and sister Dorothy King (Lane).
He is survived by sister, Linda Smith (Lane); brother, John "Chris" Kinnaird Sr.; five children. Also to cherish his sweet memories are his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
