Bonnie Fay Huff passed away Saturday April 5, 2025 at 89 years old, surrounded by loving family. Bonnie was born in West Fork, Indiana on April 3, 1936; one of ten children to the late Theodore Roosevelt Eaton and Sylvia (Kinney) Eaton. Bonnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the valedictorian of her 1953 Leavenworth High School class and went on to clerk for the Naval Ordinance. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes and flowers, and giving away the fruits of her labor to relatives and church family. Bonnie especially loved her family and babysat many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew up. She had a knack for making each and every person in her presence feel special and loved. Bonnie had a passion for storytelling and would regale friends old and new tales from her lifetime of wisdom. She sent cards and letters to many people, another facet of her care and thoughtfulness for everyone around her. Bonnie was a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher for 40+ years, devout Christian and longtime member of Bethany Christian Church.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Eugene Huff, whom she married August 20, 1955. They were married and in love for 69 years. She was preceded as well by her parents, sister Iola (Eaton) Lemmon; brother Dale Eaton, brother Dennis Eaton, twin brother Donnie Eaton, and brother James Eaton. A brother Gerald Eaton was stillborn on January 13, 1955.
Bonnie is survived by her sister Anita (Eaton) Wayman, sister Violet (Eaton) (John) Schmuck, brother Kenneth (Karen) Eaton, her four children David (Annette) Huff, Christl (Thorsten) Sell, Susan (Rick) Stagg, Paul (Laura) Huff, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday April 15th and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday April 16th at Scott Funeral Home at 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN.
Immediately following the visitation on Wednesday April 16th a service to celebrate Bonnie’s life will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Burial will take place on Thursday April 17th at 2 p.m. in Huntingburg, Indiana at Fairmount Cemetery.
