Brianna Marie Hixson

Brianna Marie Hixson, born in Owensboro, Kentucky, age 26 of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on September 12, 2025,
after a courageous 4 plus year battle with cancer. Brianna’s radiant spirit, selflessness and unwavering positivity touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Born with a heart full of compassion and a mind bursting with creativity, Brianna earned her CNA certificate while attending Apollo High School, (Owensboro, KY) (following in her mother's footsteps) and furthered her driven desire to help others by enrolling in Nursing School at Galen College of Nursing, prior to her diagnosis. Even in the face of her own illness, she never stopped thinking of others first. Her love for arts and crafts, music, gardening, cooking, and all things creative was a reflection of the vibrant soul she was—always full of life, always giving and never without a smile.

The things Brianna loved most were holidays, though the fall season was her favorite (most Favorite was Halloween), favorite movie ‘Nightmare before Xmas’ and taking a long drive spontaneously with friends (always a time for a snapchat or a selfie with her closest bestie Courtney). Later in life her favorites shifted to crafts, gardening, cooking and spending as much time with her family and friends.

Brianna is survived by her loving parents. Robert and Christine Hixson, her devoted big sister Marisa Hixson, her brothers Christopher Hixson, Mathew Rodriguez (s. Alexis, n. Todd, Stephan and Lucerys), and Joshua Hixson (s. Tabitha), and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory.

A memorial service to celebrate Brianna’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.

Though her time with us was far too short, Brianna’s legacy of kindness, incredible strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
