Charles “Chuck” Edward Graninger Jr., 80, of Borden, Indiana passed away on July 26, 2024 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1944 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, son of Charles E. Graninger Sr. and Eleanora (Ploetner) Graninger.
Chuck was a devoted school teacher for 31 years at West Clark Schools and dedicated his life to education, inspiring countless students with his passion for learning and teaching. He was a faithful member at St. John the Baptist Church.
Outside the classroom, Chuck found joy in woodworking and creating beautiful stained glass pieces for his family. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in every piece he made. He also cherished making handmade toys for his precious grandchildren. But most of all, Chuck loved and cherished his family and church family.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary “Cathy” Graninger; daughter, Lisa Allender; son, Charles “Trey” E. Graninger III(Heather); brothers, Michael(Christine), Patrick, Christopher(Leslie), Eric Graninger(Jeff Been); along with 5 grandchilden, Lindsey, Ashley, Myka, Kaylee, Flynn and 2 great grandchildren, Phillip and Ivy.
There will be visitation held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 3-8pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. His Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Church, 8310 St John Rd, Navilleton, Indiana 47119.
