Charles "Chuck" E. Canter, Sr.
Obituary
Charles “Chuck” E. Canter, Sr., age 74, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023. Chuck was born in Jeffersonville, IN on April 21, 1949 to the late Willard and Martha Jane Canter.
He was a lifelong member of Park Place United Methodist Church. Chuck was a past Master at Utica Masonic Lodge 337, and also a past Master at Clark County Masonic Lodge 040. Chuck was a dedicated member who truly loved attending meetings and fellowshipping with his brethren. He loved playing cards at various places with friends. He loved spending time with his grandkids, telling stories and jokes. Chuck was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Kay Rogers Canter; and his sister, Phyllis Canter Wilkins.
He is survived by his children, Beth Canter Valentine, and Chip (Jennifer) Canter; grandchildren, Eric (Brittney) Valentine, Aaron (Kristen) Valentine, Brooke Thomas, Zach Vincent, Chase Canter, and Evan Canter; 9 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Mel (Debbie) Canter.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 10:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
