Charles Lewis Mardis "Chuck"

Charles Lewis Mardis “Chuck”, age 66, went home to Jesus on Thursday, October 12, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Lebanon, KY on October 15, 1956 to the late Roy Hobson Mardis “Cutter” and Bernice Mann Mardis.

Chuck will be forever remembered as a light hearted, easy going, free spirit who lived his life on his own terms. He was always the most liked person in the room and was great fun to be around. Growing up he was well rounded in everything he did such as archery, swimming & diving, and made “Cutter” so proud when he earned his eagle scout. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours with a rod & reel in his hand.  

In addition to Cutter and Bernice, Chuck is preceded in death by his brother, Roy H. Mardis III; all of his aunts and uncles on both the Mardis and Mann side; and multiple cousins.

He is survived by his siblings, Donna Ann Mouser, Jennifer Jo Lopez “Joey”, Richard Daniel Mardis and wife, Diane, Frederick Scott Mardis “Fred”, and Kimberly Kaye Buchanan “K.K.” and husband, Rick; his aunt, Josephine Mann; and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Bardstown Church of Christ, North 3rd Street, Bardstown, KY on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 am. There will be a family gathering immediately following the memorial service and before the burial at 2:00 pm in St. Joseph Cemetery.
