Charlie Truesdell Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles "Charlie" Rudolph Truesdell, Jr., who left us on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Born on December 14, 1950, in New Albany, Indiana, Charlie was the beloved son of the late Charles Sr. and Wilma Fay Mader Truesdell.

Charlie's life was one of service and dedication. He devoted many years to his community as a corrections officer and a Sheriff's Deputy with Floyd County. His commitment to public safety and his steadfast presence made a significant impact on all who knew him. He was a respected and admired figure in law enforcement, known for his integrity, courage, and compassion.

Beyond his professional life, Charlie was a man who deeply cherished his family and personal relationships. The love of his life, Cheri Truesdell, was his constant companion and source of joy. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Charlie's love for Cheri was evident in every aspect of his life, and their bond was a testament to the enduring power of true love.

Charlie's warm heart, infectious smile, and unwavering loyalty will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.

In addition to his beloved Cheri, Charlie is survived by his children, Stacy Jo Truesdell and Todd Truesdell (Tonya); grandchildren, Hunter Truesdell and Chase Truesdell; siblings, Barbara Truesdell Townsend (Richard), Wilma Louise Krininger (John Girt), Kirk Truesdell, and Tammy Truesdell Lilly (Gerald).

The family has chosen to honor Charlie’s choice for cremation. Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville, has been entrusted with arrangements.

“Grief never ends… but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith… It is the price of love.”
