Christine (Lutts) Townsend

Funeral services for Christine Townsend, 79, of Charlestown, Indiana, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Christ Gospel Church, 2614 E. 10th Street in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy, and on Saturday from 9:30-11 AM prior to the service on Saturday at the church.  She passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. 

Christine was born on July 11, 1942, in Sulphur, Oklahoma to the late Jack Lutts and Blanche Payne. She was a 55-year member of Christ Gospel Church where she worshiped and ministered alongside her husband for many years.  Christine was an extremely talented seamstress and she made numerous burial garments over the years for infants that would pass away.  She was a giving and selfless person that will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.

Christine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Townsend; two daughters, Darla Jean Rice, Karen Deneen Drake (Roy); a sister Helen Keeton; a brother, Hollis Lutts (Lupita); two grandchildren, Dana Willever (Derrick), Kayla Drake; and three great-grandchildren, Lexus, Peyton, and Cole; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousin.
