Christopher Crawford Obituary

Christopher Ray Crawford, 46, of Borden, IN passed away and met his Savior on April 27, 2026.

Chris was born on October 14, 1979 in Louisville, KY. He lived a full life raising four sons with the love of his life, Summer. Chris was a savvy business owner, a true self starter, starting his own construction business Solid Rock and eventually investing in and renovating many homes across our community.

Chris was a leader from day one. At a young age when his mom Lisa was a single mom, Chris filled the role as the man of the house for her and his sister Jamie and brother Michael. This would lead to his passion to help single mothers. He would later team up with Pastor Channock Banet and Hill City Church to start the ReLife initiative, where he served as a board member and lead builder. The work was impactful as they successfully renovated and offered housing to women and children escaping tough circumstances. That movement lives on and carries Chris’ heart for the hurting.

Chris found joy in sports, most notably basketball, as he was a standout athlete and coach. He viewed coaching as an opportunity to mold young lives and instill a sense of resilience and perseverance. Many kids’ lives were changed for the better because of His impact on and off the court.

Chris would tell you his greatest love was his family. He led them with incomparable strength and boldness. He was fiercely protective and if you knew him well, you knew the sun rose and set on his Summer, his beloved wife of 22 years. He was and is her hero.

His life was marked by his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as he served as an elder at Hill City Church. His faith prompted him to live generously. Chris was known for his random acts of kindness when he saw a stranger in need or a single mom who was struggling. Through that, he challenges us all to seek connection with people and to live out our faith with action instead of words.

Chris is remembered by his wife Summer, their four sons, Landon, Ethan (Kylie), Cameron and Cashton, his mom and dad Lisa and Jeff Napier, his birth father Ray, his sister Jamie (Jeff) and brother Michael (Emilie) and 10 nieces and nephews: Addison, Jedidiah, Ella, Landry, Savannah, Ryker, Sawyer, Saige, Amae and Hazel.

The viewing will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Monday May 4th at Hill City Church in Floyds Knobs, IN. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 pm. It has been requested that attendees wear his favorite color blue. A private burial will follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany.

Flowers can be sent to Hill City Church at 6639 St Mary’s Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Donations to the ReLife program can be made at https://www.thepowerofre.com/
