Clifton Howard Sneed

Funeral services for Clifton Howard Sneed, 83, of Sellersburg, Indiana, will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 PM and 9-11 AM prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.  He passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Westminster Health Care.

Clifton was born on February 8, 1936 in Adair County, Kentucky, to the late Lawrence and Amye Jessie Sneed.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 204 and the Moose Lodge 1757, both in Sellersburg.   

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Lorenz Sneed; and nine siblings, Lawrence Jr., Garron, William “Billy”, Louise, Helen, Mildred, Crecie, Marzella, and Janet.   

He is survived by five siblings, Bobby Sneed; Margaret Vittitow (Joe); Edna Doherty; Jane Stopher; Ruby Markert (Norman); a sister-in-law, Janet Sneed; and two brother-in-laws, Jim Thompson and Robert Lochner. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Post 204, or to the Moose Lodge, both in Sellersburg.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
