Carroll Dee Shelton Jr, (DJ)

DJ was born June 24th, 1976 in Louisville, Kentucky and entered into rest with the Lord on July 2, 2024 in Sellersburg, Indiana. He will be laid to rest at the Eastern Cemetery located in Jeffersonville.

He is preceded in death by his father Dee Shelton Sr., and his infant brother Travis Jeremy.

DJ is survived by his mother Cindy Shelton: children Dee Shelton 3rd, Kane Shelton and his siblings Trent Denny (Wendy) and Michelle Mayfield (David). Along with the following nieces and nephews Tyler, Isabella, Trenton, Victoria, Katherine, Luke, Isaac, Nicholas, Charlotte and his beloved cat Miss Claire. 

DJ was a loving person and a good friend. He volunteered multiple years for the Clarksville Little League and did his best to leave it better than he found it. 

Like his father, DJ was a gifted athlete. He played tennis in Middle School, High School and followed the sport diligently. DJ was also fortunate enough to go to New York and watch his childhood hero Andre Agassi play in the US Open. As mentioned earlier he coached Dee 3rd Little League Team in Clarksville for several years. They were able to win the League Championship 3 times along with the Gameday USA Allstar Tournament. Later on, DJ would learn to play golf and enjoy playing in the Shelton Golf Classic at Bright Leaf Golf Course. When he wasn’t playing golf, you could find him hunting, fishing or attending local concerts.

DJ was always quick to make a joke and deliver a smile. He will be forever missed.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm ~ 4:00 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.  Funeral services in honor of his life will be celebrated at 4:00 pm, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home with burial to follow at Eastern Cemetery.
