David Irvin Bennett

A Celebration of Life for David “Dave” Irvin Bennett, 57, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville.  Visitation will follow the service until 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.  Dave passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. 

Dave was born on July 29, 1963 in New Albany, Indiana.  He graduated from New Albany High School in 1981 where he set several school records during his basketball career.  He continued his basketball career and education at the University of Evansville and then transferred after his freshman year to Kentucky Wesleyan University.  He was named a 2-Time All-American during his career and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.  Dave enjoyed spending time with his pets and he was an avid heavy metal and rock-n-roll fan. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Irvin Bennett; grandparents, Kenneth and Clara Bennett, and Arvis and Geneva Jones; and his faithful companion, Poco.   

Dave is survived by his son, Jordan David Bennett; his mother, Barbara Gardner; his brother, Terry Bennett (Sheila); and his fury companion, Diva.
