David Calvin Forsee, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, 83, passed away Saturday morning, September 5, 2020, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Schneiter Forsee; daughters Pam Forsee Hogue (Jeff) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Rebecca Forsee Ausbrooks (Kelly) of Paducah, Kentucky; and grandchildren Noah and Alena Ausbrooks; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Hope Forsee of Jeffersonville, his two brothers, and four sisters.
Dave was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and United Electronics Institute (UEI) and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was the president of F&S Medical Systems, which he founded in 1978 and ran until his retirement in 2004.
He enjoyed golf, fishing, bridge and watching college basketball and was active in politics and civics throughout most of his adult life.
The love of Dave’s life was his high school sweetheart and bride of over 60 years, Barbara. Their love story began when they first noticed each other in elementary school and resumed in high school, culminating with their marriage in 1959. Steadfastly devoted to each other, they shared a full life, rich with many friends, hard work and travel.
Those who knew him will greatly miss his ebullient laugh, his quick wit, sassy one-liners and jokes, and his exuberant personality.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 10, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, from 4-7 p.m., and Thursday, September 10, from 10-11 a.m. at Scott Funeral Home.
