David Ivan Frey, 82, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024. A beloved member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, David was often the driving force behind his family's commitment to attending Mass at their parish for more than 45 years.
Dave's passion for life was evident in many areas. He was an avid fan of Indiana University basketball and the Indianapolis Colts, rarely missing a game. He also cherished the camaraderie and simple pleasures of life, enjoying many afternoons and evenings drinking beer with his close friends.
Dave's legacy is defined by his unwavering devotion to his family. He was the loving husband of 57 years to his cherished wife, Beverly Frey. His role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather brought him immense joy and pride. David's commitment to his family was unparalleled, and he will be remembered for his constant support, love, and dedication.
In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his children, Michael Frey (Amy) and Angela Frey; grandchildren, Britanny Fetz (David) and Hayley Watt; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Stella, and Bentley Fetz, all of whom carry forward the love and values he instilled in them. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed but forever cherished. He is also survived by his sister, Marilynn Schwarz (Lewis “Spike).
A memorial visitation will be held 3:00 – 5:30 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville. Memorial services will be celebrated after receiving hours, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. David’s wish for cremation has been honored by his family.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, administrators, and staff of Waters of Georgetown for their faithful service to Dave in the last few years of his life.
