Deatra Winburn Obituary

Deatra Ann Winburn, age 50, passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Born in New Albany, Indiana, to Ronald and Darlene Winburn, Deatra brought light and love into every life she touched.

In her early years, Deatra dedicated herself to the care of others through her work as a phlebotomist. Her gentle hands and warm heart provided comfort to many, a reflection of the compassion that defined her spirit. Whether in her professional life or personal one, Deatra was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.

A true-blue University of Kentucky fan, Deatra bled Wildcat blue. Whether it was cheering on the team from her living room or donning her favorite UK gear, she radiated joy and loyalty with every game. But beyond her vibrant fandom, Deatra’s greatest role and deepest pride was her family.

She was a fiercely loving and devoted Mom, GiGi, Daughter, and Sister. Her sons, Jermaine Winburn and Jamin Roberts, were the lights of her life. As "GiGi" to Jada Winburn and Jersey Winburn, she filled her granddaughters' lives with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Deatra is survived by her loving mother, Darlene Winburn; her brother, David Winburn; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Daron Winburn, Jacob Winburn, Sydney Winburn, Christopher Stewart, and Leilani Stewart. She is reunited in eternal peace with her father, Ronald Winburn, and her dear sister, Michelle Winburn.

The family has honored Deatra’s wish for cremation. Though her time with us was far too short, her legacy of love, strength, and spirited joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
