Dolores Kolter Obituary

Dolores Birchall (Campbell) Kolter, 90, passed away peacefully after a short illness at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville on March 29, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She had lived in Jeffersonville, IN for close to 60 years.

Dolores was born in Louisville, Ky on July 4th, 1930.  Dolores was preceded in death by her loving parents, Erven A. Koenig and Dorothy Birchall Koenig of Louisville, KY her brother Donald Koenig (Mary) of Jacksonville Beach, FL and her best friend and loving husband of 32 years Kenneth L. Kolter of Louisville, KY.

Dolores was a longtime active member (almost 50 years) of Eastside Christian Church, Jeffersonville, IN.  An active member of the Rebecca Circle, the Forever Young group and the Coffee Club of Stonecreek Village.  Dolores was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling (especially her trip to Israel where she was re-baptized in the Jordan River!).  Dolores was a very generous person and enjoyed spending time with family, her many friends and never met a stranger!  Her family always came first and they were blessed by her love and care.  Her children and grandchildren gave her as much joy and pleasure as she gave them.  She retired as a supervisor at the Census Bureau (26 years) and then worked part time at the Greentree Mall Dillard’s.

Dolores is survived by her son, Donald (Donnie) Campbell (Jan) of Lawrenceburg, KY;  daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Ferree (Mark) of Memphis, IN and step-daughter, Sarah Kolter of Pensacola, FL.  Grandchildren: Allison Pinkston (Brad) and Leslie Stratton (Shannon) both of Lawrenceburg, KY; Melissa Campbell of Borden, IN; Andrew Ferree (Jamie) of Louisville, KY; Donna Ferree of Jeffersonville, IN, step grandchildren Michael Craigmyle of Lawrenceburg, KY; Adrian Ancona (Kelly) of Pensacola, FL and Ashley Revels (Sean) of Loxley, AL.  Dolores also had seventeen great-grandchildren. Nieces Laura Mc Murray (Jerry) of Park City, KY and Lisa Koenig of Louisville, KY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Outreach Ministry of Eastside Christian Church 2319 Veterans Parkway Jeffersonville, IN, 47130.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Visitation will be Saturday 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Scotts Funeral Home at 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. There will be a private burial service at Resthaven Cemetery, Louisville, KY.

Our hope rests securely in the faithfulness and goodness of the One who has called us. He is faithful and He will get us home.  John 14:2-3.  See you at the house!!
