Doris Jean DeSchamp

Doris Jean DeSchamp, born on November 22, 1933, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, laughter, and love.

Doris lived life with sparkle and style. A proud beautician and the longtime owner of Kittys Beauty Salon in Jeffersonville, she devoted her career to making women feel beautiful—inside and out. Her salon was more than a place for hair; it was a gathering spot filled with conversation, laughter, all guided by Doris’s skilled hands and feistiness.

She embraced life’s pleasures wholeheartedly. Doris loved the excitement of the horse track, the thrill of the casino, and the bright lights of Las Vegas. Cards and dice with friends brought her joy, as did shopping, great music, and especially the timeless charm of the Rat Pack. One of her most cherished memories was a trip to New York City with her daughter Vanessa and granddaughter Michelle, where she delighted in the energy of the city and time spent together.

Above all, Doris treasured her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Vanessa Rains (Mike); her cherished granddaughter, Michelle Stevens (Michael); and her adored great-grandchildren, Sophia and Logan Stevens, who brought her immense pride and happiness.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years. Claude, her parents Olen and Mabel Voyles and her brother, Marvin and sister, Mary Ann.

Visitation will be held on January 12, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.  Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 13, 2025, from 10:00 until the time of the funeral at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Doris Jean DeSchamp will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, her love of life, and the beauty she brought into the world—one person, one smile, and one style at a time.
