Douglas Chinn was a loving husband and motivating father who adored his grandchildren. He was an elementary school principal who’s compassion, care, and understanding of children helped him plant roots into the community around him. HIs lifelong goal was to help feed children’s appetite for wonder, help them discover their indefinite potential, and taught them anything is possible. Doug exercised their creative nature, empowered their intellectual curiosity and inspired them to chase their dreams. He did the same for his friends and family well into old age. The world was a better place because of Doug and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Chinn (Saunders) and father, Bobbie Chinn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Karen Chinn; children, Julie Chinn Gilham (Christopher Jines), and Matthew Chinn; brother, Brian Chinn (Peggy); grandchildren, Olivia Gilham (Tyler Campbell), Levi Gilham, and Liam Gilham.
