Dr. Mark E. Blum, a beloved history professor at the University of Louisville for 50 years, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was a man of great intellect, a dedicated educator. Dr. Blum served his university, family, and community with distinction. He loved teaching and cherished the relationships with students whom he mentored and inspired.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebekah Blum
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Brenda Kepley-Blum; his son, Adam Blum and his five children, Adam Kepley and his daughter and her three children, and Kevin Kepley and his three children; 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, and from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow.
