Earl Quincy Sowder Jr.

Funeral services for Earl Quincy Sowder Jr., 94, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 12-3 PM at the funeral home.  He passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at his home. 

Earl was born on February 1, 1928 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Earl Sr. and Lula Ann Eads Sowder.  He graduated from Jeffersonville High School and attended Purdue University.  Earl worked as a packaging engineer and was a successful entrepreneur.  He owned and operated APAK Inc and EQS Packaging.  He was a devoted husband and family man that will be missed by all that knew him. Earl was a lifelong member of the CCCCC in Utica, Indiana.

Along with his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Sowder.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosalie Sowder; three children, Tina Barchard, Earl Q. “Tres” Sowder (Sally), Hope English (Ron); two sisters, Jewell Delaney and Norma Jo Morrison; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
