Edna Marie Alvis

Ms. Edna Marie Alvis, 77, passed away on April 26. 2021. She retired after 33 years working at U of L Hospital as an OB Tech in Labor and Delivery. Edna was a member of Spirit Filled New Life Church Ministries in Louisville, Kentucky. She was devoted to her family and kept her door open for everyone.

She is survived by her children; James (Marsha) Alvis Sr., LaDonna Alvis, Marla (Michael) Roberson, and Dawn Ellington; siblings, Grace Bell and Vanessa (Philip) Morton; grandchildren, Jeffery (Tia) Alvis Sr., Shanta Alvis, Devin Alvis Sr., James Alvis II, Keith Alvis, Cariesha Ellington, Mar’Rajaah McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Devin II, Ja’Mes, J’Aira, Jeffery II, Jaiden, and Darius.

Edna is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Bell Jackson; brother, Marvin Jackson; sister, Shirley Alvis; and granddaughter, LaDawndra Ellington.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at Spirit Filled New Life Church Ministries (4936 Hazelwood Ave, Louisville, KY 40214) at Noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00am -12:00pm. Burial will take place at Louisville Cemetery
