Emily Erlinda Huston (Rivera), age 71, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on April 30, 2026. A daughter of Raymond O. Rivera and Delphine Rivera (Munguia), Emily was born April 7, 1955. She worked in a variety of health care roles, including as a nursing assistant, an office manager for a home health service, and a polysomnographic technologist.
Emily was preceded in death by her loving parents, Raymond and Delphine Rivera; brothers, Raymond Rivera Jr., David Rivera, and Freddie Rivera; sister, Delilah Jones; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Allene and Richard Huston.
Her survivors include her loving husband, Phillip; daughter Kimberly Huston-Weber (Jason Weber); brothers Mike Rivera, Moses Rivera, Ruben Rivera, and Lee Roy Rivera; sisters Ernestine Menchaca, Minnie Perez, Erma Watkins, and Janie Stark; sister- and brother-in-law Pam and Jeff Dimmitt; and 39 nieces and nephews.
Emily had varied hobbies throughout her lifetime. She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed finding the next recipe to try. She also loved the outdoors, including camping, fishing, or simply spending time on the waterfront. She had a green thumb and loved caring for her ferns, flowers, and vegetables, and her not-so-dwarf holly trees. She was also an amateur radio enthusiast, with the call sign KC9LLB. She was a member of the Clark County Amateur Radio Club and enjoyed participating in various radio events, such as the 13 Colonies. As an avid sports fan, Emily was loyal to rooting for the Indiana Hoosiers, but not so loyal that she wouldn’t cheer for other local teams, including the Louisville Cardinals. Every baseball season, she would hope the Cleveland Guardians wouldn’t blow a lead in the ninth inning. She also loved K-drama and baking shows the best. The sound of her mischievous laugh will be in our hearts forever.
Services will be held 11 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville). Burial will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-6PM on Wednesday, May 6th at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
