Eric Elsmore Obituary

Eric John Elsmore, 62, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. A devoted father, loving grandfather, and proud veteran, Eric's life was marked by service, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Born on August 14, 1962, in Indiana, Eric grew up with a strong sense of purpose and commitment that would guide him throughout his life. He served his country honorably as an Army Ranger, a role that remained a source of pride and reflection for him in later years. His military service shaped not only his discipline and leadership but also deepened his appreciation for camaraderie and sacrifice.

Following his time in the military, Eric pursued higher education with determination and earned a Master’s Degree from the Kelley School of Business. His academic achievements reflected his drive for excellence and his belief in lifelong learning. Throughout his professional life, Eric was known as an outstanding leader—respected by colleagues and admired for his integrity and humor.

Eric’s greatest joy came from being with his family. He was a dedicated father to his daughter Katie Long (Charles) and sons Brad Elsmore and Todd Elsmore. His love extended deeply to his grandchildren Lucy Long and Tatum Long, with whom he cherished every moment. Whether sharing stories from his Army days or simply enjoying their company, Eric found profound happiness in their presence.

He is remembered fondly for his kindness, quick wit, and the warmth he brought into every room.  Those who knew him will recall not only the strength of his character but also the joy he spread through laughter and compassion.

Eric was preceded in death by his father Richard Elsmore, mother Betty Elsmore (Fuller), and brother Craig Elsmore. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life.

A man of Christian faith, Eric lived with humility and grace. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched—with love that endures beyond words.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Eric’s service and enduring support for fellow veterans.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
