Ernesto L. Alfonso

Ernesto L. Alfonso, age 83 of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Born in Cuba to the late Hipolito E. and Opelia Alfonso, Ernesto came to the United States at the young age of twenty, bravely beginning a new chapter filled with hope, resilience, and dedication.

He went on to earn his master’s degree & enjoyed a fulfilling career as an accountant for Broward County, FL, where his sharp mind and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on his colleagues.  He then worked as a librarian with the Library System in Florida.  Ernesto lived his life with quiet strength, a generous heart, and a steadfast devotion to those he loved.

For forty-three years, Ernesto shared a beautiful life with his beloved companion, Michael T. Beickman of Jeffersonville. Together, they created a home full of love, laughter, and unwavering support.  Ernesto will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for his kindness, wisdom, and the joy he brought to the lives of those around him.

Graveside services will be held at Fort Lauderdale Memorial Park, where Ernesto will be entombed at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Scott Funeral Home.
