Evelyn Jeanette (Miller) Wells

Evelyn Jeanette Wells, age 84, of Clarksville (formerly of Louisville), passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Born to the late William and Alice (Galloway) Miller, Evelyn lived a full and spirited life. She worked many years as a dedicated truck driver, a career that reflected her strength and independence. Evelyn found joy in simple pleasures—crossword puzzles, word games, and the laughter she shared with her friends while attending Bingo Bash. She also had a deep love of music and could often be heard singing the old hymns that brought her comfort and joy.

Evelyn was a faithful member of Evangel North Church, where she gave generously of her time and energy. Whether volunteering or supporting the church’s food pantry, she lived out her faith in service to others.

She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Green; sister, Bette Cottrell, and her brothers, Donald & Dallas Miller and William Miller, Jr.  Evelyn leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: Daughters, Linda Green, Bette Martin, and Beverly Appleby; Son, Christopher Green; Grandchildren, Tim Cook, Steven Martin, Jessica Vanover, Tiffany Shelton, Eva Lynn Appleby, and Nicholas Appleby; Great-Grandchildren, Jordan, Alex, Grayson, Carter, and Carson; and her beloved sisters, Anna Perry and Deloris Niemeier.

A funeral service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville), officiated by Dr. John Carmichael, pastor of Evangel North. Friends may gather for visitation beginning at 10:00 AM Friday until the time of service.
