Francis "Fran" Thomas Noel

Francis Thomas Noel, affectionately known as Fran or Frank, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Pekin, Indiana. He was 63 years old.

Born on October 18, 1961, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Fran lived a life full of warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to the people and things he loved. A true outdoorsman at heart, Fran found joy in gardening, fishing, and just about anything that allowed him to be outside. His garage was his sanctuary — a place where he could often be found “piddling,” as he called it, tinkering with tools and fixing or building whatever came his way. Known as a “Jack of all trades and master of none,” Fran had a rare talent with his hands and could make, mend, or create just about anything.

Fran kind heart extended to animals, who always seemed to gravitate toward him, and to the many people lucky enough to know him. He enjoyed bowling nights, peaceful afternoons at the lake, and the laughter and love of his family most of all.

Francis is survived by his son, Matthew John Noel (Jody Tyree); his daughter, Stephanie Noel, sisters, Lisa Gill (Steven) and Barbara Chapman, brother, Jamey Noel, beloved grandchildren, Remington Noel and Kyra Jo Noel, and many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and admiration.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joan Noel, his brothers, Christopher David Noel and William Leon Noel, and his brother-in-law, Neil Chapman.

The family has chosen private services.

He will be remembered for his quiet humor, helping hands, love of family, and the gentle way he moved through life. He will be deeply missed.
