George Neumeister

George Neumeister of Jeffersonville,  owner of Neumeister’s Standard Oil Filling Station , passed away peacefully at Clark Memorial Hospital on June 1, 2021. 

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 7 PM and after 9 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. 

He was born on May 16, 1928 in Bloomington, IN of Albert Neumeister, Sr. and Georgia Stone Neumeister.  He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1946. He was a self made entrepreneur and was always buying, renting and selling homes or investing into a new business with friends. He enjoyed card playing with his wife and their many friends, bowling and his favorite sport, golf. He and Jean were dog lovers and in their 70 year marriage gave a loving home to 10 dogs. 

George has three children, Sue Cozzin (Mike), Nancy Blackstone and Ray Neumeister (Rosemary).   George has seven grandchildren Jeff Anderson (Steffanie), Russell Anderson (Tonya), Michael Cozzin (Carmon) , Amy Blackstone, Donald Blackstone (Heather), Margie Blackstone (Shannon), & Jeremy McKnight, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. 

The family would like to thank the Visiting Angels for the care they gave, and Kindra Hobbs and Linda Wyatt, both friend caregivers. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clark County Humane Society and the Red Cross of Clark County.
