Guy Randall Black

Guy Randall Black, age 89, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. Born on June 26, 1936, Guy lived a long and meaningful life, filled with dedication, passion, and a deep love for his family.

A lifelong accountant, Guy found great joy in numbers and even greater pride in sharing that love with his family. His commitment to his profession inspired generations; thanks to his influence, most of his family followed in his footsteps, becoming successful accountants in their own right. Guy's legacy is one not only of professional excellence but of mentorship and unwavering support.

Outside of work, Guy had a spirited passion for Las Vegas and the thrill of gambling. He cherished every visit to the city, finding excitement and fun in its energy and games of chance.

Guy is survived by his three sons, Greg Black, Jerry Black (Gail), and Tony Black; his loving ex-wife, Becky Reardon; grandchildren Shane Powell, Tony “A.J.” Black Jr., Mathew Black, and Jerry Black Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Kayla and Logan. His family was his pride and joy, and his presence will be deeply missed by them all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Guy Ruel Black Jr., and his siblings, Glenn Black, Michael Black, and Donnie Board.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 9:00am to 1:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Guy’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Guy will be remembered for his wisdom, his wit, his love of family, and the legacy he leaves behind—both in numbers and in the hearts of those who knew him.
