Hannah Marie Palmer, 25, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Hannah was a bright and humorous light in the lives of all who knew her, known for her charm, passion, and quiet strength. She embraced life while serving death with a compassionate heart.
Hannah was a passionate member of the haunted housing community, known for volunteer work at the Culbertson Mansion during Halloween season, working historical murder mystery events, and helping in the restoration efforts of the Mansion. In her role as Director, she took great pride in the volunteer youth. Hannah also devoted her time to supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and participated in annual T1D walks. When not volunteering, she enjoyed thrifting, photography, metal shows, and adventures to the Louisville and Indianapolis Zoos.
Hannah's calling as a mortician in Kentuckiana reflected her profound respect for life and her dedication to helping others during their most difficult moments. She approached her work with reverence, embodying grace and compassion in her service to others. She advocated strongly that everyone deserved a funeral.
She was preceded in her passing by paternal grandmother, Priscilla and Gary Hall; paternal grandfather, Roger Palmer; and her rabbit, Usachan.
Hannah’s life, though brief, was lived fully and authentically. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Survivors include her parents, Mark and Deborah Palmer; sister, Alexandria Palmer; maternal grandmother, Janie Titus; uncle, Matthew Palmer; aunt, Carla Lawson; and her beloved cats, Karma and Lorraine.
Visitation will be held 12-7 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway. Funeral services in remembrance of Hannah will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Charlestown Cemetery.
