Harold Lee Bamforth

In Loving Memory, we announce the passing of Harold Lee Bamforth, age 90, of Palm Harbor, Florida, (formerly of Jeffersonville, Indiana), on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.  Born to the late Clarence Henry and Elizabeth (Clemens) Bamforth, Harold lived a life defined by service, hard work, kindness, and an unwavering love for friends, and country.  A proud United States Navy veteran, Harold courageously served during the Korean Conflict.

Harold was known throughout Southern Indiana as a true "car man."  A real entrepreneur, he owned and operated Bamforth Brothers Shell Station with his brother, Lloyd Bamforth. He then ran Bamforth Standard in Clarksville for decades, where customers relied on his expertise, honesty, and remarkable mechanical skills.

After retiring to Florida, he continued working another eighteen years at AutoNation in St. Petersburg. He also served his community as a school crossing guard. He loved classic country music, especially the unmistakable sound of a steel guitar. He enjoyed square dancing, attending the Grand Ole Opry, and listening to his favorite country music stars perform. He found peace tending his garden, caring for flowers, and spending time outdoors. Harold also enjoyed traveling, cruising, and taking road trips, always eager to see new places and meet new people.

Perhaps Harold's greatest gift was his ability to connect with others. His bright smile, warm personality, charming disposition, and undeniable good looks made him instantly memorable.  Harold never met a stranger. His genuine interest in others, caring heart, and friendly spirit created lasting friendships wherever he went.  Harold leaves behind a legacy of service, hard work, friendship, and love. He was a loving father, a proud veteran, skilled mechanic, devoted worker, faithful friend, and a man who truly enjoyed the simple blessings of life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Bamforth (and his wife, Joyce), as well as a dear son-in-law, Steve Trent.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Emily Bamforth; his devoted daughter, Bonnie (Bamforth) Trent; brother, Fred Bamforth (wife, Betty); sisters: Elaine (Bamforth) Stone and Jewell Whann (husband, Scott); nieces and nephews: Lloyd Bamforth, Jr., Darlene Peyton, Robert Bamforth, David Bamforth, Melissa Kirkland, Patricia Campbell, Elizabeth West, Nicole Hamm, Jennifer Lord, Angela O’Connell and Frank Calvert.    

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana). Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Though his journey on earth has ended, the lessons he taught, the kindness he shared, and the countless lives he touched will remain forever. We honor his service, celebrate his life, and give thanks for the many years we were blessed to call him ours.
