Harold D. Thomas

A memorial visitation for Harold D. Thomas, 81, of Clarksville, Indiana, will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 11-8 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville. There will be a private service for family at 10:00am. He passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at his home, surrounded by family.

Harold was born on June 1, 1939 in Dunnville, Kentucky to the late Ray and Venus Thomas. He worked at LG&E for over 29 years, and was also retired from Jim Butner Auto/Clarksville Finance. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved the outdoors. Harold was a softball coach and played volleyball. He loved attending his grandchildren’s games and he was an avid UK fan. Harold cherished his hometown.  He attended every reunion he could and met daily with his breakfast buddies. Despite all of his pastimes, family was the most important thing in his life.

Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his siblings, Leona Spaw and Kenneth Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cora Thomas; his children, Greg (Jeanette) Thomas, Teresa Butner, and Mitchell (Becky) Thomas; grandchildren, Stanley Smith, Mathew Thomas, JB (Elizabeth) Butner, Mercedes Butner, Lexy Butner, Carson Butner, Emma Souza, Gabby Thomas, Mallory Thomas; great-grandson, James Butner; brothers, Charles (Ruby) Thomas, Lowell (Beth) Thomas; friends, Ray Lee, Billy Benningfield, and Bob Johnson; and a host of other family members and friends.
